26 Feb 2008:  H. G. Dr. Thomas Mar Makarios funeral detials as follows

On Friday 29th February  

1. 4 PM to 6 PM - Viewing at St.Gregorios Church, London

2. 6 PM to 7 PM - Funeral service 1st part.

3. 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM Viewing

4. 8 PM to 9.45 Evening prayers & Holy Qurbana

5. 9:45 PM to 10:45 PM Farewell service

6. 10:45 PM body leaving church to the funeral Home.

7. H.G. Geevarghese Mar Coorilose will be leading the services in London.

8. The mortal remains of H.G. Dr. Thomas Mar Makarios Metropolitan will be brought to Nedumbassery International airport on 2 March Sunday.

9. The Emirates flight which carry the body of His Grace will leave London at 1:30 PM GMT on Saturday 1 March. There will be change in flight at Dubai. The carrier will reach Nedumbassery airport at 8:55 AM IST on Sunday.

10. His Grace's body will be taken to his native place Ayroor. The procession to Ayroor will be going through NH 47 and from Alappuzha it will reach Changanassery through A C Road and proceed to Ayroor via Thiruvalla.

11. After prayers at Ayroor the body will be brought to Old Seminary, Kottayam where it will be kept overnight.

12. Monday morning Nagarikanikkal will start from Old Seminary and expected to arrive at Devalokam around 9:00 AM IST. The funeral is expected to be over by 12:30 PM IST.

23 Feb 2008: H. G. Dr. Thomas Mar Makarios (81), Metropolitan of the Canada, U.K  & Europe diocese of the Holy Church entered eternal rest at 10:42AM (GMT), 4:12 PM (IST). His Grace had been injured and hospitalized for the last seven weeks at Newcastle General Hospital outside of London following a serious car accident. The accident took place in Newcastle as His Grace was going to the Newcastle Airport on Saturday, January 5, 2008 to return to London.  Another vehicle hit the passenger side where His Grace was seated.  His Grace had just declared a new parish in Sunderland during his annual pastoral visit to the UK and Ireland.

His Grace's mortal remains will be brought to India and will be laid to rest at a tomb beside the Catholicate Aramana Chapel. The H. Episcopal Synod will meet at  Devalokam 8:00 pm today to discuss the future plans.  

A meeting of the H. Episcopal Synod was held at Devalokam at 8:00 PM (IST) this evening and discussed on the various matters related to the bringing of the mortal remains and the funeral of H. G. Dr. Thomas Mar Makarios Metropolitan. As per the decision of the H. Episcopal Synod, H. G. Dr. Geevarghese Mar Coorilos will go to New Castle on Wednesday. After finishing the formalities the mortal remains will be brought to India by an Emirates flight most probably to Thiruvananthapuram by next Monday/Tuesday. From the airport the body will be brought to Orthodox Seminary, Kottayam where it will be kept overnight for prayer and vigil. The funeral is likely to take place the next day morning in a specially prepared tomb at the southern part of the Catholicate Aramana Chapel, Devalokam.
